MARITA DE JONG

Marita is a registered Midwife who trained and worked as an independent home birthing midwife in the Netherlands.

She graduated there in 2006. Before midwifery, Marita studied at Belfast Bible College In Northern Ireland and received a certificate in Biblical and Counseling Studies.

She has been practicing midwifery in Australia since 2010 and still loves being a midwife and considers it an honour to be a part of people’s birth journeys.

Marita is the designer and creator of these New Life Learning programs.

With present hospital policy of early discharge from maternity wards, in most cases as early as 24 hrs after birth, there is a great need for practical help for mothers and babies at home after discharge. As a first time grandmother I wanted to be a support for my daughter during her recent pregnancy, labor and birth of our beautiful grandson.The New Life Learning family Start-up Program gave me confidence and practical guidelines so that I was better equipped to be a good support for my daughter as she and her husband embarked on the sometimes bewildering process of becoming a family. I really recommend the New Life Family Start-up program for anyone with a heart to be a positive support for families having a new baby.
